Cyber Security Risk Management Platform Selected for Providing Automated Threat Assessment, Scoring and Prioritization

Sunnyvale, Calif. and Albuquerque, N.M. – Jan. 15, 2018 – RiskSense®, Inc., the pioneer and market leader in cyber risk management, today announced it received a 2017 GSN Homeland Security Award for Best Cyber Operational Risk Intelligence. The RiskSense cyber risk management platform was selected for its ability to effectively contextualize cyber risk intelligence, assess cyber risk across an entire attack surface, and prioritize and validate remediation efforts to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks.

Now in its 9th year, the GSN Homeland Security Awards program hosted by Government Security News (GSN) recognizes excellence and leadership in the Cyber Security and Homeland Security sectors. Winners were selected based on a combination of technological innovation, ability to address a recognized government IT security need, and on the  flexibility the solution to meet both current and future needs. A complete list of winners is posted at:

“RiskSense is honored to add this recognition from the GSN Homeland Security Awards for Best Cyber Operational Risk Intelligence solution to our long, growing list of accolades,” said Jill Kyte, vice president of marketing for RiskSense. “We have deep roots in government cyber security, having collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community on several initiatives, including helping develop Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the U.S. (CACTUS). The RiskSense platform embodies the knowledge and expertise gained from defending critical networks against the world’s most dangerous cyber adversaries.”

RiskSense has pioneered an intelligence-driven, proactive approach to cyber risk management. Using an attacker’s viewpoint and human-interactive A.I. and machine learning, the RiskSense Platform examines the entire attack surface, including the network, applications, endpoints, web, databases, IoT devices and OT networks. RiskSense uses patented technology and leverages existing technology investments to contextualize internal security intelligence (e.g., vulnerability scanners and configuration management systems), external threat data (e.g., exploits, malware, threat actors, reputational intelligence), and business criticality to identify imminent cyber risks and prioritize remediation efforts for physical and virtual assets within an organization’s infrastructure. The platform provides a risk-based prioritization of security gaps that need to be mitigated based on asset criticality and business impact.
