Nationwide Roundtable Series to Cover Operationalization of Cyber Risk and How to Ensure Security is Aligned with the Business
Sunnyvale, Calif. & Albuquerque, N.M. – August 25, 2016 – RiskSense®, Inc.
, the pioneer and market leader in pro-active cyber risk management, today announced that it will host the RiskSense Executive Breakfast Tour in partnership with Information Security Media Group (ISMG) beginning in August 2016. This invitation-only series of roundtable meetings in key cities across the United States will engage security executives from various industries in interactive dialogue and information sharing on how to tackle the challenge of operationalizing cyber risk management.
According to a leading analyst firm, organizations will spend $92 billion on perimeter defenses this year, yet we will continue to see a growing list of high profile organizations breached. The RiskSense Executive Breakfast Tour events will bring together security executives to share their experiences on why today’s defense strategies are struggling to keep pace with adversaries and their evolving attack methods, and what can be done about it.
These closed-door roundtables will be moderated by Tom Field, vice president – editorial for Information Security Media Group with the participation of Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala, co-founder and CEO of RiskSense. Dr. Mukkamala is a recognized expert on malware analytics, breach exposure management, Web application security, and cyber risk reduction. Attendees will be encouraged to share their views on current vulnerability-based security strategies and what’s needed to implement a risk-based approach that is aligned with mitigating threats to their business.
Each interactive roundtable will focus on the following issues:
- How organizations are being hamstrung by siloed security and IT environments;
- The true impact of the security staffing shortage;
- How to bridge the divisive gap between security operations and IT operations;
- How lack of threat and business context can lead to security blind spots; and
- How a growing attack surface has to be taken into account when developing defense strategies.
