Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala Will Present a New Approach for Prioritizing Threat Remediation and Shrinking an Organization’s Attack Surface
SUNNYVALE , Calif. – Sep. 05, 2018 – RiskSense®, Inc., the pioneer in intelligent threat and vulnerability management, today announced that its CEO, Srinivas Mukkamala, Ph.D. will explain how organizations can harness vulnerability weaponization and exploitation data to predict attacks, prioritize threat remediation and reduce their attack surface in a free webinar on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.
WHO: Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala, co-founder and CEO of RiskSense, is a recognized expert on artificial intelligence (AI) and neural networks. He was part of a think tank that collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community on applying these concepts to cybersecurity problems. Dr. Mukkamala was also a lead researcher for CACTUS (Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the U.S.) and holds a patent on Intelligent Agents for Distributed Intrusion Detection System and Method of Practicing.
WHAT: The formula for shrinking an attack surface is remediating the exact vulnerability or weakness that the adversary is planning to exploit. This remains one of the biggest challenges facing IT security teams, since lack of visibility into the relationship between weaponization and active attacks makes it difficult to know which vulnerabilities to fix and when. In this webinar, Dr. Mukkamala will present a new approach for vulnerability prioritization based predicting attacks. His talk will cover techniques that enabled the RiskSense security research team to predict the recent WannaCry pandemic, including:
- Quantitative and qualitative signals
- Reconstructing attack journeys and understanding time-based patterns
- Weaponization and breach latency
- Predicting weaponization and breach susceptibility
WHEN: Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 at 3:00 pm EDT.
