Experts will Explain how Risk-based Model Can Eliminate Traditional Collaboration Silos

SUNNYVALE , Calif. – February 13, 2019 – RiskSense®, Inc., pioneering risk-based vulnerability prioritization and management, today announced that Senior Solutions Manager, Jason Farmer and Maxine Holt, Research Director at Ovum will present a webinar on how to unify vulnerability management functions across security and IT operations teams to reduce risk from unmitigated and weaponized cyber threats.

WHO: Jason Farmer, Senior Solutions Manager at RiskSense, is an expert in cybersecurity risk management, privacy, and compliance. He has held senior engineering positions at leading security vendors including Arbor Networks, the security division of NetScout, RSA Security, Promisec, NetIQ, RedSeal and McAfee. Jason works directly with organizations to help them implement a security technology stack that will optimize their security posture within the confines of their available resources and expertise.

Maxine Holt, Research Director at UK based analyst firm Ovum, leads the firm’s security business. She was previously Principal Analyst at the Information Security Forum (ISF), a London based non-profit and leading global authority on cyber security and risk management. At ISF, Maxine provided research and guidance on protecting mission-critical information assets and collaboration platforms.

WHAT: Many organizations use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of their vulnerability management programs. This approach often pits security teams against over burdened IT operations staff, discourages cross-team collaboration and reduces the efficiency of vulnerability management efforts. This webinar will explain the benefits of replacing KPIs in vulnerability management with a risk-based approach that aligns operations and security team functions. Maxine and Jason will explain how risk can be calculated using additional metrics beyond what vulnerability scanners provide, the benefits of replacing KPIs with Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and the advantages of building workflows to break down silos between security and operations teams.

WHEN: Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at 11:00 am New York / 4:00 pm London
