RiskSense CEO and Arizona State CISO to Present Webinar on Cyber Security Best Practices in Government
Experts to Explain How Continuous Cyber Risk Scoring Helps Arizona State Tackle Today’s Dynamic Threat Landscape
SUNNYVALE, Calif. and ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – May 2, 2017 – RiskSense®, Inc.
, the pioneer and market leader in pro-active cyber risk management, today announced its CEO Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala will co-present a webinar with Mike Lettman, Chief Information Security Officer for the State of Arizona, on best practices for protecting state and local governments from cyber threats. WHO:
Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala is co-founder and CEO at RiskSense. Dr. Mukkamala was part of a think tank that collaborated with the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Intelligence Community on cyber security best practices. He is an expert on malware analytics, breach exposure management, Web application security, and enterprise risk reduction. Dr. Mukkamala was a lead researcher for CACTUS (Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the U.S.) and holds a patent on Intelligent Agents for Distributed Intrusion Detection System and Method of Practicing.
Mike Lettman is a recognized technology leader with more than 28 years of experience in government information security and technology. As State of Arizona CISO, he provides strategic direction for information security to over 130 public agencies, leads the Security, Privacy, and Risk team for the Arizona Strategic Enterprise Technology (ASET) Office, and works with state partners including the Multi State Information Sharing and Analysis Center MS-ISAC, Department of Homeland Security, and the FBI. He is an active member of the Arizona Fusion Center and co-chairs the MS-ISAC SCADA work group. Previously, Mike was CISO for the State of Wisconsin and CTO for the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Justice.
Cyber-attacks against state and local governments are just as frequent and complex as those targeting larger and better funded Federal agencies. Meanwhile, these smaller government entities are responsible for protecting large volumes of sensitive assets and ensuring the continuity of essential systems and services -- with significantly fewer IT resources. In this webinar, Mike Lettman and Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala will explain how state and local governments can implement continuous cyber threat monitoring, risk scoring, and remediation programs without federal-agency scale budgets. They will present best practices being used by the State of Arizona to pro-actively identify and address cyber security gaps while also ensuring compliance with NIST and other guidance (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP).
