Oliver Rochford Joins RiskSense as Security and Product Evangelist
Former Gartner Research Director Brings Wealth of Security Industry Insight and Experience to Cyber Risk Management Leader
Sunnyvale, Calif. and Albuquerque, N.M. – April 20, 2017 – RiskSense® Inc., the pioneer and market leader in pro-active cyber risk management, today announced that Oliver Rochford, former research director at Gartner, Inc., has joined the company as security and product evangelist. The hiring of Mr. Rochford demonstrates RiskSense’s focus and commitment to building the deepest level of cyber risk management and threat-centric vulnerability prioritization expertise in this rapidly growing new market segment.
In this newly created position, Mr. Rochford will play a strategic role in shaping the company's product offerings to ensure they are aligned with market and customer needs. He will also focus on thought leadership activities to articulate RiskSense’s unique value proposition within the cyber security landscape and evangelize the emergence of cyber risk management as a core component of next generation enterprise security models.
"Cyber security has reached a tipping point where vulnerability management must be more than a reactive response to missing patches and become a pro-active, threat-centric, and intelligence-driven discipline that is more focused on mitigating an organization’s true exposure to imminent cyber risks,” said Oliver Rochford. “RiskSense is a driving force in this new paradigm, and the company was my first choice to work with on getting this message out there to be heard clearer and louder. This role will allow me to promote and be an advocate for using threat-centric vulnerability prioritization as a blueprint to implement a new enterprise security model. I truly look forward to this opportunity."
Mr. Rochford is a recognized expert on threat and vulnerability management as well as cyber security monitoring and operations management. He has worked as a security practitioner and white hat hacker for Tenable Network Security®, HP Enterprise Security Services, Verizon Business, Secunia® (now Flexera Software), Qualys®, and Integralis (now part of NTT Com Security).
"Oliver has played an instrumental role in raising awareness for the importance of risk-based cyber defense, security operations, analytics, and executive reporting among business as well as technology decision makers. He is a well-known, visionary leader in cyber security and the industry’s most influential proponent,” said Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala, co-founder and CEO of RiskSense. “We are extremely pleased he has decided to join our team. Oliver will help customers in transforming their security practices from an ad-hoc, reactive practice to a pro-active model that is oriented on addressing threats based on their business criticality."
