- Srinivas Mukkamala, Ph.D. Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder
Dr. Srinivas Mukkamala is co-founder and CEO of RiskSense. Mukkamala has been researching and developing security technologies for over 15 years, working on malware analytics (focuses on medical control systems and nontraditional computing devices), breach exposure management, Web application security, and enterprise risk reduction.
Mukkamala was one of the lead researchers for CACTUS (Computational Analysis of Cyber Terrorism against the US). He has been published in over 120 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of information assurance, malware analytics, digital forensics, data mining, and bioinformatics. He has a patent on Intelligent Agents for Distributed Intrusion Detection System and Method of Practicing.
Mukkamala received his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Madras, before obtaining his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Computer Science from New Mexico Tech.
- Brett Newsome Chief Financial Officer
Brett Newsome is responsible for RiskSense's financial strategy, accounting, treasury management, and human resources. Newsome brings more than 20 years of financial and operational expertise to the company with a focus on building scalable operational processes for high growth organizations while developing and executing the company’s long term financial strategy.
Previously, Newsome served as chief financial officer for Infrastructure-as-Service providers, Joyent and GoGrid, where he implemented a global financial structure to drive growth and profitability across the organizations. Newsome also served as vice president of finance for UltraDNS, a Software-as-a-Service DNS provider, where he successfully helped lead the company from pre-revenue to a successful acquisition by Neustar (NYSE: NSR). He also held leadership roles with KPMG and Citi.
Newsome holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.
- Danny Quist, Ph.D. Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Daniel (Danny) Quist leads RiskSense's long-term technology vision, and is responsible for the RiskSense research program, industry thought leadership, and advanced technology incubations. He also oversees product development and quality assurance within RiskSense. Quist brings more than 15 years of experience in the security industry to the company. He is a frequent speaker at conferences such as Black Hat USA, RSA Conference, DEF CON, REcon, and DFRWS.
Prior to joining RiskSense, Quist managed the global cyber security program at the Bechtel Corporation. By applying best practices to the SOC, security engineering, and incident response teams, his team drastically reduced the number of compromises, leading most recently to a year-long absence of any major security incidents. Previously, Quist was technical staff member at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where he was assigned as reverse engineer and hypervisor developer, and a research scientist for Los Alamos National Laboratory, where he served on one of the first cyber incident response teams developing new technologies to safeguard national secrets.
Quist holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Ph.D. from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech).
- Randy Hager Vice President of Global Sales
Prior to joining the RiskSense team, Hager served as the Vice President of North American Sales at WhiteHat Security. Previously, he held senior sales leadership roles at CipherCloud, Informatica, and Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC). He started his career as a District Manager / Director at Gartner, a global analyst firm, where he established his fundamental solution selling skills.
Hager holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.
- Bobby Brown VICE PRESIDENT OF CUSTOMER SUCCESS
Bobby Brown is responsible for managing RiskSense’s global support strategy, customer support operations, and customer success team, ensuring the highest return on investment for RiskSense customers. Brown has more than 20 years of experience in building high-performing customer support organizations and developing the infrastructure, systems, and processes required to provide world-class support to global companies. Over the years, Brown has developed a passion for helping start-ups scale their businesses to keep up with accelerated growth through processes and team building.
Previously, Brown held similar positions at ScaleArc and GoGrid, where he was in charge of building a scalable operations infrastructure to support the customer growth. Brown also worked at AT&T, Google News (as a founding launch team member), North Point Communications, and Nortel Networks.
- Christopher Acton Vice President, Operations and Services
Christopher Acton leads a team that covers all areas of Web application, infrastructure, and system security. These include security research, penetration testing, software analysis, infrastructure analysis, operations research, and vulnerability reporting. Additionally, Acton leads RiskSense's Customer Success team that provides account maintenance and solution architect services to RiskSense's client base.
Prior to joining RiskSense, Acton served as Director of Web Application at a northeast regional ISP. Acton has over 20 years of experience in software assurance and application security. He has conducted research into critical areas of application security testing, application scanner deficiencies, application crawling strategies, lexical parsing of Web attacks, semantic analysis of Web content, and application behavior changes while under attack.
Acton holds a Bachelor of Science and Computer Science degree from the University of New Mexico School of Engineering.
- Mark Fidel Co-Founder and Head of Corporate Development
RiskSense co-founder Mark Fidel is responsible for advocating and growing RiskSense in the State of New Mexico, where RiskSense was founded and remains headquartered. He is also responsible for corporate development, including all company contracts and third-party partnerships, ensuring alignment within the market. Fidel is also a licensed New Mexico attorney, and brings more than 14 years experience in law and litigation.
Fidel began his career selling commercial insurance, before holding a series of financial positions at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology as well as Intel Corporation. Fidel was admitted to the New Mexico Bar in 2002 and became an associate at one of New Mexico's largest law firms, Modrall Sperling, where he specialized in commercial litigation. Fidel is a former litigator, who founded Applied Records Management (ARM) in 2004. ARM is a records management and litigation support consulting firm.
Fidel holds a Bachelor of Arts and Economics degree with a major in Finance from New Mexico State University. He earned an Executive Master of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and his law degree from the University of Denver.
